The technique of Howard Brooks has no name. He managed to avoid the influence of the culture of the 60’s and develop his personal style. Creating a series of super-realistic paintings, he surpassed the simple tricks of photorealism. His mysterious mystical works are reminiscent of Becklin or di Chirico, but with proprietary English humor.
Howard Brooks remains a special, unformed figure on the art scene. While many of his works have gained incredible popularity and become classics of their time.
The painter and composer Howard Brooks was born in New Brighton, near Liverpool, on May 15, 1947. In 1969, when he was a student at Gloucestershire College of Art, he first appeared in Sweden. He, was so fascinated by the beauty of the island of Marstand, that he remained there to live and wrote no pictures with this plot.
“Most likely, the charm and attraction of Brooks’s art is explained by the fact that behind all the pictures and images seen in his paintings, we feel the strength of the painter’s attitude to the craft, to art, to the world... It seems like that Baudelaire “Alien” the question of what he loves more than anything else — whether his homeland, close people, money, beauty — answers: “I love clouds... clouds that float... high there... marvelous clouds...”.
