Along the embankments, streets, prospects

The artist has been working on urban landscapes for years creating his own picturesque image of his birth city. Thanks to his painting skills, sophisticated personal style and sincere love towards Petersburg, Pavel’s paintings touch souls of art lovers and collectors in Russia and abroad.

In his works the artist as invites us for a walk to the center of Petersburg. Fascinated by majestic beauty of the home city, he follows along laced fencing of Moika and Fontanka Embankments and Griboedov Canal, watching buildings and palaces that are reflected in light ripples of the canals, drowsy river trams at docks in morning freshness.

Artist is walking along the Gorokhovaya street and noisy Nevsky prospect, admires the spire of Admiralty heavenward and the Hermitage hidden in spring verdure of the garden square. He leads us to Mikhailovsky garden, either snowed-up or light-up by evening sun shining. There he pauses for a while by Rossi’s pavilion, look at the Mikhailovsky castle over the Moika banks. He is walking in the trees shadow among sculptures of Summer garden and then comes to the Neva river to watch University embankment and           the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island. It’s darkening and here we are seeing the day off, sunset glows fade on the gold of the domes and decorative adornments of cathedrals. Lanterns light and the city dives into mystical darkness untill morning. New day is ahead, when the sun will rise again through low clouds and shine the northern capital for a moment of time.
