I know… Merry fairy-tales of mysterious countries

“I actually know and remember some of them”. Works from trips of the last 4 years are
presented at the exhibition; these are picturesque canvases, devoted to studying of the world,
different cultures and a human-being in it. Works from Ghana, Ethiopia, Sochi, Malta. Here
African ocean shore and snow Moscow winter, pain of loss and delight of mutuality are
combined. Bright colors are extended by series of drawings where body is primary. Body as a
part of us but at the same time a separate object. How parts of the body live when they are
beyond their functions.
“I am curious about this world, trees curves, changing seasons, life and death, sex theme and
people. How all this is interacted and responded in us. How events happen, leaving a trace, how
life throws us in different places and situations and we taking into consideration our experience
and intuition, leave it, realize something and run further”.
About series “Two and body”:
“I have always been interested in relationships between people. How we interact with each other,
the way we look and what role the body plays. The body is as a part of us but meanwhile a
separate object. How it looks like in different situations, how parts of the body live when they
are beyond their functions.
One morning lying in bed with partner, I was watching our bodies and felt intimacy. It was so
natural, free, frankly and beautiful. I wanted to turn this moment into drawing, to watch how this
situation is transformed into something different. I took a pencil. I felt interest in transferring
lines, outline “visible” apparent borders and show that there’s something more, sex beyond sex.
It turned out very unexpectedly and I continued the series.”
