Point of mind

"I myself am my heaven, I myself am my own hell. (Schiller)"

The project Point of mind - is the search for the divine in man, the search for his temple, which, like the whole universe, can fit in just one head. Painters Egor Laptarev and Julia Belova actualize the human head as a "point of reason", as a universal symbol, bringing this symbol to the sacred. The exhibition itself is a kind of altar, it is a kind of game of images - the universe in the universe, the temple in the temple. The canvases depicting heads, from which the light of reason and purity is shed, are like icons, and the ceramic heads of cherub babies framing them, which are frustrated and may not be as happy as on the church facade, however, refer us again to church motives.

By itself, the head is a point of reference, the point of reason and painters, each in its own way trying to reveal this image for themselves, combining into one common concept of the sacred and intimate. The mind living in the human head can hold whole worlds in itself, create incredible images and thoughts, but the main thing is that it is in constant dialogue with someone called - God. Light is born in the head, punishment and forgiveness are born in the head. The most sincere confession takes place in my head - alone with myself.
