Theatrical theme – important for St. Petersburg as the cultural capital – has been played upon in different exhibition projects of the city’s museums and private galleries, as well as in the artworks of major artists and young painters. “Molbert” art gallery saw in the new light the meaning of the theatre as outstanding and noticeable phenomenon involving all types of art.
The exhibition “Behind the Curtain” deals with the Wold Theatre Day (March 27) and features pictures both of famous and unknown painters from St. Petersburg. Variety of presented genres will not leave the audience indifferent. Famous artists will demonstrate oil paintings, textile art and batik. Students of the Academy of Fine Arts will present theatrical decorations maquettes; the Applied Arts Academy students will show unique paper dolls.
